Izzie
Izzie is a brilliant computer programmer and social recluse. She feels comfortable in the digitally generated worlds in which she spends most of her days, but when it comes time to interact with others, she hides behind her sharp, inciteful quips...and her long blonde hair. Izzie is clearly the smartest member of the group. Unfortunately, she uses her wits as a barrier to keep suitors out and insecurities in.
Trig
Trig is a 30-year-old manchild: he lives with his mom, sleeps until noon, and still thinks he's the coolest kid in school, even though he graduated twelve years ago. He prides himself on his constant stream of one-liners, but most of the time, he is the only one laughing at them. Deep down, Trig is a sweetheart who hides behind his bravado to keep from getting hurt. His soft underbelly peeks out every now and then, revealing a handsome, charming guy. Too bad his charm usually reverts to outrageous jokes and his (mostly unproven) prowess in the bedroom.
June
June is good at getting men, as indicated by the three engagement rings she's hung on to, but not good at keeping them. She has a one track mind when it comes to what she ultimately wants: money. Her apartment is sparesely furnished as all her money goes to creating her look: designer clothes, fancy shoes, regular manicures. Why she is overly concerned with finances is open for debate, but if a conversation with a potential suitor involves words like "camping," "affordable," or "Kia Sephia," she tunes out immediately and doesn't hear the things she really wants and needs to.
Reaper
Reaper desperately wants to be as frightening as he looks. His bad attitude, black makeup and heavy metal voice are all tools he uses to push people away. But a look into his eyes and most people can detect, if not fully realize, the truth. At heart, Reaper is an artist with beautiful and creative goals. However, the world is hard on artists, and Reaper is one of many trying to find his way around truths that can be antagonistic to artistic goals: the need to make money and having people understand just what you're trying to say. Though, people would have a much easier time understanding what Reaper is trying to say if he would just stop screaming at them.
Seattle
Seattle is a self-help obsessed assitant to a motivational speaker. She rarely speaks for herself, constantly quoting her "guru" in quippy phrases that may or may not have anything to do with the issue at hand. Seattle may be a lovely woman, or she may be bat-poop insane. It's hard to tell because when pushed to speak for herself or encouraged to say what she thinks, she shuts down and has few words for anyone.
Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson is probably in no shape to be helping these people since he is working his way through his own divorce, while hoping to learn as much from his clients as he plans to teach them. He is a practiced and successful therapist, but could definitely use some new tactics for reaching out to others to help him save his currently-doomed twenty year marriage.
